NJS Engineering has been in business since 1987, and was previously known as Scott Engineering. Scott Engineering opened an office in Spearfish in 1976. NJS Engineering is located in Spearfish, South Dakota. Spearfish is located 50 mile northwest of Rapid City and 12 miles from the Wyoming border and at the northern limits of the majestic Black Hills. NJS Engineering has served various clients including government agencies such as Federal, State, County, Municipalities, School Districts and Indian Tribes: and private enterprises including mining, agricultural, tourism, industrial concerns and private individuals. Our activities have been directed primarily to civil and structural engineering, land and construction surveyings. Our engineering assignments have included community water and sewer projects, airports, municipal streets, urban and rural highways, mining and logging roads, bridges, buildings, flood studies, soil testing, site plans and subdivision developments. Our surveying assignments include aerial photogrammetry control, cadastral surveys, exploration, location control, and mining quantities, site, topographic, and construction layout control. NJS Engineering has a full time staff of 12 employees. This includes 2 Professional Engineers/Project Engineers, 3 Design Engineers, 2 Registered Land Surveyors, a Survey Manager, 2 Survey Crews, a Cad Technician, and an Office Manager. NJS Engineering has a structural engineer on retainer for projects that exceed our staff's capabilities. Our staff has a diverse variety of education and experience to help provide our clients with the highest quality of service.
